Zero Collective is Canada’s first membership to rent designer bags.

01 Why this, why now?

I built Zero Collective’s V1 website to test demand for a luxury bag membership in Canada. A few months later, we had 700+ applications and a growing customer base.
As Zero Collective shifted from assessing interest to serving clients, we needed a new platform with more pages, stronger branding, and app functionalities for members and non-members.
Goals for this project:
  • Drive potential members to complete their application
  • Provide current members with a seamless browsing experience
  • Create cohesive brand visuals

02 Home

The original homepage was straightforward but lacked visual appeal. Because our business model (pay a membership, rent a bag) is so simple, I re-designed the homepage to focus on creating a beautiful experience.
The new home is still easy to navigate and directs users to key pages.

03 Application Pipeline

Our application has two pages: personal questions and a credit card hold. Our main problem was many users would complete the first page, but not the credit card hold.
However, website analytics and member feedback indicated completion rates skyrocketed when:
  • A current member referred the applicant
  • The applicant read through key FAQ questions
This subset of applicants had a better understanding of our business and greater trust in Zero Collective. To replicate this effect, I added 3 changes:
01 'HOW IT WORKS'
page that leads to our application
02 KEY FAQs
on the Home & How It Works pages
03 DETAILED FAQ
organized into clear categories

04 Browsing Bags

The bag pages are the most visited on our site. While most members browse on mobile, about 70% request their bags on desktop. To cater to both, these views are kept simple and minimal.

05 Results

After launching the new website, we received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Key achievements include:
  • Cohesive branding used in PR and socials
  • A clear process for members to browse and request bags
  • 40% application completion rate, compared to ~12% on V1
